The Activity Center is a “dream” and currently does not have a facility to offer its dynamic services. The planned, permanent Activity Center (designed by architect Timothy A. Hotz of Mansfield, Ohio) would enable children, adults and senior citizens to gather in a friendly and safe environment designed to foster safe harbor and a positive Christian atmosphere. The Activity Center plans to offer a wide variety of after-school programs, including tutoring and mentoring in various academic areas; physical and mental exercise including dance, yoga, tai chi, and board games; as well as nutritional programs, cooking classes, youth gardening, a children’s theatre, puppetry, talent shows, craft classes, and Alateen (an alcohol recovery support group for teens). The Outreach Center is hoping to break ground and begin construction on our “Build a Dream” project in late pring 2009.
