CLEAR FORK EMPTY BOWLS

Fighting Hunger One Bowl At a Time

BELLVILLE, OH – On Sunday, November 3, 2019, the Clear Fork Valley will hold its 2nd Empty Bowls event at Clear Fork High School to combat hunger in Bellville and Butler. The inaugural year was a great success with more than 400 guests attending the soup luncheon, helping the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center (BNOC) put healthy meals on tables throughout the Clear Fork Valley. As a community, we pride ourselves on the support we provide for one another, and that is no different when it comes to ensuring everyone has the nutritious food they need every day.

The concept behind Empty Bowls is simple; to come together as a community and rally around our own. At the event, guests will make a small contribution and receive a meal of delicious soup and bread, all donated by local restaurants. The best part is the meal is served in a beautifully hand-painted bowl. The bowls are designed by adults and children from throughout the Bellville and Butler communities, then professionally kiln-fired by the Mansfield Art Center. As a thank you and subtle reminder of the local fight against hunger, the attendees donating at least $15 are welcome to take their one-of-a-kind bowl home, while supplies last.

Empty Bowls events have been held in communities across the country for years. While every community’s objectives remain the same, each event is self-developed and independent. These events would not be successful without the generous support of hundreds of community members and vital sponsors coming together for one worthy cause. 2019 Clear Fork Empty Bowls Sponsors include the Mansfield Art Center, Terra Valley Excavating, Weekley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Beachy Family Chiropractic, Edward Jones Investments, Elite Insurance, Hursh Drug Bellville, Darr Chiropractic, Main Culture Salon, Mechanics Bank, Wilson Family Realty, Wise Construction, Rustik Market, Smith's True Value, Snyder Funeral Homes, Wade Gardens, ClearFit Nutrition, Elzy Milling and Trade, and US Bank.

Event proceeds will go to the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center to aid in their food pantry and food distribution efforts that assist hungry neighbors throughout Bellville and Butler. The BNOC is extremely grateful for the opportunity to partner with community members and local businesses, joining together to support families across the Valley!
